TheFXGeek launched in May 2026. We publish research-backed rankings of forex brokers and the trading tools traders rely on. Every broker in every ranking has been checked against public, verifiable sources, and wherever possible we open and verify a live account ourselves. That's the work that separates a researched ranking from a self-promotional listicle.
How we research
For every ranking, one writer cross-checks each broker against public, verifiable sources: regulatory registers (FCA, CySEC, ASIC, and others), the broker's own pricing and spread pages, client agreements and terms, Trustpilot, and trader communities. Where possible we open and verify a live account to confirm execution, spreads, and deposit and withdrawal terms first-hand rather than relying on marketing claims.
How we score
Brokers are ranked on a weighted composite score across five dimensions:
- Regulation & safety (30%), licensing, regulatory status, and client-fund protection
- Spreads & fees (25%), typical spreads, commissions, and overnight financing costs
- Platform & execution (20%), platform quality, execution speed, and reliability
- Deposits & withdrawals (15%), funding options, processing times, and withdrawal terms
- Support & education (10%), customer support quality and trader education resources
Brokers scoring below 7.0 do not appear in our rankings, we drop them and research an alternative.
Editorial standards
We use affiliate links and disclose this in the footer of every page and above every broker mention in body copy. We do not accept paid placements in exchange for coverage. We do not rank a broker we wouldn't recommend to a friend without the commission. We never let a broker's affiliate program write our research notes, that defeats the purpose.
Updates
Every ranking is re-checked and updated monthly. The "Updated" date in the meta row of every article reflects the most recent pass. When we drop a broker or add a new contender, we say so in the article's revision notes.
